Francis Edgar “Frank” Baird, 78, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009 in Spokane, Wash.,

Private family services have been held.

Frank was born on Sept. 14, 1930, in Spokane, to Gardner and Fern Baird.

He grew up and attended schools in Spokane. 

Frank served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.  He then went to work as an engineer for Boeing.  He moved to Sandpoint in 1993.

He enjoyed work at the Sandpoint Arboretum, attending spiritual studies, building homes and cars, and working on his land. 

He also enjoyed climbing mountains, hiking, and skiing.

He is survived by a son, Michael Baird of Culver City, Calif.; a daughter, Susy (Carlo) Desimone of Kent, Wash.; a daughter, Diane (Jay) Gingrich of Spokane Valley, Wash.; and son, Thomas (T.J.) Baird.
