Suspected goose poacher bond $250K

A Bonners Ferry man remains in Boundary County Jail on $250,000 bond after he allegedly shot a goose from his vehicle in Paradise Valley.
The bond is high for a game-related offense because suspect Neal Mouser is a convicted felon, who’s not permitted to have a gun, said Greg Johnson, senior conservation officer with Idaho Department of Fish and Game in Boundary County.
“He did this a few years ago, shot a deer out of season,” Johnson said.
A witness watched as Mouser sat in his truck on the roadway and shot a goose on a pond at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in Paradise Valley, Johnson said. The witness was afraid to stop, but gave officials the license plate number of Mouser’s vehicle.
Game officials met with Mouser and charged him with unlawful possession by convicted felon, hunting from a vehicle, shooting across roadway, hunting without a license and possession of a migratory bird without a federal permit.
According to court records, Mouser faced similar charges in December 2007 in Boundary County. His past record also includes drunken driving and driving related offenses.
