OTHELLO — Lawrence Ement Macken, 32, is suspected of robbing two men in Othello, fleeing police, and aiming a pistol at a deputy on July 29.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in locating Macken. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Macken is described as having red hair, blue eyes, 6 feet tall, weighing roughly 300 pounds and heavily tattooed. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, he has tattoos of a Viking on his back, demons on his right arm, clowns on his left arm, “outlaw gangster” on his abdomen, “ESOV” on his chest.

Macken is known to have used the aliases of Brian Leno Lopes and Brian Leno Lopez, according to the sheriff’s office.

He is wanted in California for a weapon offense in Stockton, Calif., and an assault with torture in Placer County, Calif. He is also suspected of violating his parole.

Macken is suspected in taking part in a robbery of two Royal City men in Othello last month. Macken and a second suspect reportedly fled from the robbery and was pursued by police on to Cemetery Road at night, until the GMC Yukon they were driving rolled on to its side in field near Lee Street.

As officer approached the vehicle a shot was fire from inside the vehicle through a window. The two suspects exited the vehicle and one reportedly aimed a firearm at a deputy. The deputy shot at the suspect.

It’s unclear if the suspect was injured by gunfire but authorities believe the suspects were injured in the crash.

They used the darkness to escape law enforcement, according to Adams County Sheriff Doug Barger.

The last registered owner of the Yukon was located in Moses Lake July 31. 

The Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team to do a tactical entry on the owner’s home, but law enforcement found him elsewhere on foot.

The owner, Todd M. Brower, 42, Moses Lake, was arrested for a felony warrant from Wisconsin.   

Authorities continue to seek information about Macken and the other suspect involved. The investigation continues.

The deputy, who shot at the suspect, was placed on paid administrative leave. Barger explained it is a policy to place a deputy on leave when a firearm is discharged.
