Troy police officer Bob McLeod will be back to work Friday after being on administrative leave for two weeks pertaining to alleged misconduct concerning the use of a Taser on Troy resident Alfred Haflich two years ago.

A three-person committee reviewed evidence and interviewed McLeod today, recommending to the Troy mayor that he be reinstated. The committee was made up of in-coming Troy mayor Don Banning, retired law enforcement officer and in-coming city judge Allen Dye, and Troy businessman Sam Shupe.

In other Troy Police Department news, chief Mitch Walters made his retirement official yesterday when he turned in his letter of resignation to the city. Walters and the remaining TPD officer, Kit Pearson, are under investigation by the state concerning a conversation they inadvertently broadcast on their radio.
