On behalf of Samaritan Healthcare, please allow us to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the 9th annual Samaritan Healthcare Turkey Drive to benefit the Moses Lake Food Bank.

This is by far the largest amount of food and cash every collected during our annual event. In excess of 1,000 individuals and businesses donated in one form or another to this event to benefit our local community.

Here is the tale of the turkey:

• 532 turkeys were bought and donated by the public, equating to 10,000 pounds of poultry;

• 19,8000 pounds of canned food and other food items were donated;

• $11,367.61 in cash and checks were mailed in and/or given to our volunteers. The Moses Lake Food Bank will use all cash donations to purchase additional food products at Safeway.

This event could not have been successful without the support of our sponsors, and specifically the display ads and feature story in the Columbia Basin Herald.

Again, thank you for supporting this event that benefits our local community.

Community Relations Coordinator
