Clifford C. Giesey, 98, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at the Brendan House in Kalispell. He was born on Oct. 4, 1911, at Monarch, the son of William Bismark and Bertha Lucinda (Robertson) Giesey. Cliff was married to Ellen Loos on Oct. 15, 1932, and they were together for 70 years. Cliff was a horse logger in his younger days and loved and belonged to the Smith Valley Saddle Club. He was a dairy farmer and rancher in Smith Valley since 1949, and actively farmed until he was 88 years old. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Brendan House and Home Options Hospice for their care and support. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; his parents; and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Alice Gleason, and husband, Larry, of Ronan; sons, Elmer Giesey and wife, Betty, of Rapid City, S.D., and Ted Giesey and wife, Beverly, of Marion; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Roscoe Giesey, and wife, June, of Kalispell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Chapel. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Clifford s family.
