Born into a military family, entertainer Linda Lanier is no stranger to that unique way of life. In fact, she’s had family members serve in every branch of the military from her husband in the U.S. Navy to their son in the U.S. Coast Guard to her father in the U.S. Army during World War II. And that’s just to name a few.

With such strong connections, Lanier enjoys celebrating the military with patriotic concerts. Promotional materials call the Nashville recording artist’s events “unforgettable” and “life-changing.”

Lanier will perform in Libby on Friday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. to honor local veterans. The show will be staged at the Libby Nazarene Church (186 Horseshoe Drive) in Libby.

Lanier’s heritage varies and includes Native American ancestry. She was born in New York, raised in California and has lived her adult life in Montana, now making her home in Victor.

“She is not just a singer, not just another speaker, but a woman who, through her near death trials, brings encouraging entertainment and a message for people of all ages, breaking generational barriers,” a press release on Lanier reads.

Lanier recently completed her seventh recording project with tours throughout the country. She has performed on the grounds of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. for a 9/11 Memorial Service, hosted and appeared on numerous TV and radio programs and is involved with the  Army National Guard. In addition, her video, “Prayer List,” was broadcast to 1,200 military bases and ships on the Fourth of July.

Recently she was named the Pacific Northwest ambassador for the Patriot Guard Riders.

Lanier’s May 2008 release, “The American Flag,” has been received by 4,300 radio stations nationwide and it climbed into the Top 10 Christian country music charts.

Lanier’s schedule also shows an appearance at the local Amish Church on Sunday at 10 a.m.
