Wrestling: Greenchain whips Columbia Falls

The Libby High School wrestling squad won its third straight dual on Tuesday with a 57-28 victory at Columbia Falls.
The Greenchain won seven matches by pin, one by decision and two by forfeit.
Kyle Sweedman remained unbeaten this season by sticking Columbia Falls’ Josh Folsom in 1:00 at 171 pounds. Sweedman is now 7-0.
Mike Roby pinned Adam Richardson in just 56 seconds at 125. Kody Berget also won in impressive fashion with a pin in 58 seconds over Marcus Ross at 189.
Cody Elliott had the team’s fastest pin on the day by disposing of Cody Hader in just 21 seconds at 140.
Mitch Haugen (130) pinned Brendon Moseman in 1:10, Rigo Ibarra (215) took care of Jacob Babcock in 2:41 and Austin Bailey (160) defeated Billy Gross in 5:57.
The only LHS victory by decision came at 135 pounds where Kyle Leir took out Kohl Thompson, 9-2.
Isaac King (105) and Dylan Berget (145) won by forfeit.
The Greenchain this weekend is scheduled to participate in tournaments at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Eureka.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond
The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
Action on Quiet Waters Initiative expected May 26
The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will act on the Quiet Waters rule proposal in a meeting rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 26 at Montana WILD.
