ST. IGNATIUS — Arlee junior Cole Rice registered his 100th win last Tuesday when his team took part in duals hosted by St. Ignatius.

The Warriors lost to Thompson Falls 48-33 and than again to Ronan, 39-20.

Rice won his 99th match against Thompson Falls’ Seth Knuth in a pin that took 80 seconds.

The 140-pound wrestler entered the century club in decisive fashion with a technical fall win over Ronan’s Dilan Starkel, 15-0.

“He is a great wrestler and has a fantastic work ethic,” head coach Ken Hill said before the season started.

Rice entered this year with a 83-13 record in just two seasons. So far, he is 17-1.

He took first at divisionals and second at state last season as a sophomore.

Against Thompson Falls, freshman Austin Rubel had a quick match, pinning Dalton Nelson in 32 seconds. Sophomore Carter Clinkenbeard also registered a pin in 73 seconds.

Junior Damon Cordier won a 9-4 decision.

Next up was Ronan where three Arlee wrestlers notched wins, including Rice’s tech fall win. In the 145 match-up, sophomore Leif Rova won a 5-3 decision over Ronan’s Alex Greenfield and junior Bryce Norling, in the 215 weight class, pinned his opponent in two minutes.

Arlee heads back to St. Ignatius for a tournament on Jan. 2.
