QUINCY — The Othello Huskies boys basketball team made the trip across the Columbia Basin Thursday night to take on Central Washington Athletic Conference rival Quincy.

The Huskies battled the Jacks through all four quarters and the Huskies were rewarded for their efforts with a 60-53 victory.

Although the win over Quincy wasn’t pretty, Othello head coach Pete Patitucci said he will take it.

“A win is a win,” he said.

The first period was a slow game of ball-control with neither team hitting their stride nor their free throws. The Jacks built a commanding 17-5 lead after 8 minutes.

The Huskies began to take charge in the second quarter, but Othello couldn’t overcome the strong start from Quincy. The Jacks held on for a 23-17 halftime lead.

After a sluggish first half, the Huskies came out in the second ready to play. Othello erased the six-point halftime deficit over the game’s final 16 minutes and the Huskies knocked off the Jacks 60-53.
