Whitefish Pilot

Kaleb Prestegaard ended his high school wrestling career on a high note Saturday, pinning Torrey Vezina, of Dillon, in 4:31 to take fifth place overall in the 152-pound weight class at the All Class State Wrestling Tournament over the weekend.

Prestegaard lost a 3-6 decision in the semifinals, but he finished the highest of the six Bulldog wrestlers who made the trip to Billings.

Whitefish finished with 24 points overall, good for 19th place in Class A. Havre won their third-straight Class A title with 294.5 points. Belgrade finished second, and Ronan finished third.

Tanner Benedict placed sixth in the 145-pound weight class, losing a tough 3-4 decision to his Northwest A nemesis Ty Fouty, of Polson. Dalton Rice won a match as well.

The wrestling team will have an awards banquet on Feb. 24.
