Lady Bulldogs get a win to end regular season

The Lady Bulldogs closed out the regular season on a high note Friday night, defeating Ronan 46-41 in front of the home crowd for Senior Night.

Seniors Torie Powell, Kate Klundt, Heather Melcer, Beth Donovan, McCara Cullen and Paula Oliveira received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Playing her last game in Whitefish High School, Klundt had one of the best performances of her career, scoring 30 points and pulling in 18 rebounds to go along with a solid defensive effort.

Klundt finished the regular season leading the conference with 350 total points, or 19.44 per game. She also led in rebounding with an 11-boards-per-game average. She was sixth in the conference with 41 steals and fifth overall with 48 assists.

Slaybaugh, playing point guard in the first half, had several assists and finished with one point. Powell had six points and seven rebounds, Cullen had two, Oliveira had six and Adele FauntLeRoy had one point off the bench.

The Lady Bulldogs will take on the Polson Lady Pirates at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Glacier High School gym in the first round of the Northwestern A divisional basketball tournament.

“Everybody’s record is back to zero,” said head coach Tim Olson. “We’re excited to start the playoffs.”
