Henry P. Hutchinson, 95, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Brendan House in Kalispell. He was born Oct. 1, 1913, in West Chester, Pa., to Howard H. and Elsie (Gable) Hutchinson.

Henry received his education in West Chester. At age 16, he rode the rails out West, looking to work. He worked as a ranch hand in Circle, and was a pioneer in early radio and television repair.

In 1931, on one of Henry's trips back home, he met Hazel Walton. They were married in 1935.

In 1940, Henry officially began his career as an appliance repairman. In 1965, the family moved to Kalispell, where Henry worked at Roy Johnson Repair. He retired in 1986.

Henry was a member of the United Church of God.

He enjoyed working on and tinkering with old cars. He also loved playing pinochle, fishing and traveling, especially by train.

Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; and two brothers.

He is survived by his son, Jan Hutchinson, of Kalispell; one brother, Barnie Hutchinson, and wife, Dorothy, of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; and many friends.

Services for Henry will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, in the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral chapel, with Roc Corbett and Glen White officiating. Burial will be in the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery after the service.

The family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Montana, 3499 U.S. 93 N., Kalispell, MT 59901; and the Animal Shelter, 225 Cemetery Road, Kalispell, MT 59901.
