Whitefish Pilot
The Whitefish wrestlers battled Glacier and Libby at home on Saturday. In the first dual, the Bulldogs lost to the Class AA Wolfpack by a lopsided score of 6-81. They had a better performance against the Loggers, but still dropped the Northwestern A match 15-51.
Again, Whitefish lost several weight classes due to forfeits.
Against Libby, the Bulldogs got big wins from 145-pounder Tanner Benedict and 152-pounder Kaleb Prestegaard.
Benedict won a 7-1 decision over Charlie Berget, and Prestegaard pinned Morgan Peek in just 44 seconds.
The Loggers used six pins and two forfeits in their favor to defeat Whitefish.
Against the Wolfpack, Whitefish lost three weights to forfeit. Whitefish’s Zach Berger then got the Bulldogs on the board with a pin of Royce Schlegal in 3:39. However, seven Bulldogs then went down by pins to give Glacier a dominating win.
The Bulldogs travel across the divide this weekend for the Cut Bank Invitational Wrestling Tournament.
