MOSES LAKE — After its roof collapsed from excessive snow, Quik Cash in Moses Lake moved to a temporary location in the foyer of Penhallurick’s True Value.

Quik Cash’s interim location isn’t far from its old building, as both businesses are located in the same parking lot on Stratford Road, confirmed Quik Cash Assistant Manager Dan Hennagir on Tuesday.

A repair company was working at the site this week and a new roof will be constructed, he said.

The business will also be recarpeted and repainted, Hennagir added.

“We were hoping to get back in on Friday or early next week,” Hennagir said.

The work won’t be completed, just repaired well enough so employees can return, he explained.

The roof gave way at about 10 a.m. Thursday after the business opened for the day, he recalled.

Hennagir and another employee were working, he said.

“We saw the roof was bulging,” Hennagir noted. “We had all sorts of leaks for about a week. The bulging was getting seriously bad.”

Hennagir and the other employee moved electrical equipment out of the way just in time, he said.

“As soon as we got everything moved, in it came,” he said of the water. “It started in the center and ripped all the way to the corner.”

Quik Cash found a temporary new home after inquiring at the nearby espresso stand, Jonesies, which is in the same parking lot, he said.

“It was very, very nice they came to our aid,” he said of Penhallurick’s.

The experience was frustrating, he said.

“I’m not from here and not used to weather causing such huge headaches,” Hennagir said. “In this town, it really does.”

“We’re muddling through,” he said. “The customers have been great.”
