KELLOGG - Junior Christina Johnson capped a furious comeback with a game-winning 3-pointer, leading Sandpoint to a 36-33 nonleague win over Kellogg Wednesday night at Kellogg High School.

The Bulldogs (2-15) trailed Kellogg (4-11) by six with just over two minutes left in the game and no time outs before chipping away at the lead. Down 33-32 with 30 seconds left Johnson hit from beyond the arc to put the Bulldogs ahead for good.

"The girls showed a lot of character," said head coach Lance Bruce of the win. "Every girl wanted the ball at the end."

Kellogg had a chance to regain the lead, but Jenny Thomas played great defense, forcing a tough shot before securing the rebound and hitting an insurance free throw.

Johnson finished with nine points and seven rebounds, Natasha Roop added eight points and seven boards, and Charissa Chatburn and Thomas each scored seven in a balanced offensive effort. Freshman guard Alex Bucholtz continues to emerge as a defensive stopper, finishing with five steals.
