Mission/Charlo wrestling

The Bulldogs places five wrestlers at the Ted Kato tourney.

98- Russell Schultz placed second, losing to Jake Adler from Drummond by pin 1:45

112- Scotty Gilleard placed third, winning by decision over Kody Davison of Florence 9-3

135- Michael Beebe placed first, winning by pin 2:15 over Shane St. Onge Glacer

140- Jame Petersen placed first, winning by pin over Shawn Sacchi of Thompson Falls in 45 seconds

189- Matt Faroni placed second, losing to Craig Ashworth from Florence 4-5

Bulldog basketball

The Mission boys lost both rivalry games, the first 72-33 on Friday in Ronan, and the second 81-27 on Saturday in Charlo.

The Mission boys host Eureka at the Salish and Kootenai College on Saturday at 6 p.m. 

Polson basketball

The Pirates lost two games this past weekend, one 60-48 to non-conference Corvallis and the other 66-55 to Whitefish at home.

Against Corvallis, sophomore Kyle Bag

nell led the Pirates in scoring.

Against Whitefish senior Craig Bagnell and junior Tim Rausch had 13 points each.

Arlee wrestling

Arlee beat Drummond 42-36 in a dual meet last Thursday.

125- Cody Davis pinned Carter Clinkenbeard in 1:53

135- Jordan Lefler pinned Tanner Palmer in 2:28

160 - Trevor Rice pinned Tyrel Bignell in 1:02

189 - Damon Cordier pinned Zane Pocha in 4:32

Drummond received a forfeit at 98 pounds.

Arlee received forfeits at 140, 171 and 215 pounds.

16-year-old finishes atop Spring Mack Days

POLSON - For a 16-year-old to put in a 12-day total of 714 lake trout and take the honors of top fisherman in the 2009 Spring Mack Days tournament might seem like an astonishing feat, but for those who have shared Flathead Lake with him, it may not have been a huge surprise that Pablo's Stephen Naethe did just that.

ST. IGNATIUS — Over a weekend of basketball in their hometown, the Lady Bulldogs took a 55-44 win on Friday over Ronan, then went down 46-33 on Saturday to Charlo.

Polson wrestlers throw down

The Polson wrestling team sent varsity athletes to Bozeman while JV wrestlers stayed local to compete in the Mission Takedown Tournament in St. Ignatius. In Bozeman, the wrestlers placed two and took 13th as a team. At St. Ignatius, Polson placed three and no team score was awarded due to technical difficulties in scorekeeping.
