Lois L. Staab, 85

Lois L. Staab, 85, of Kalispell, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Brendan House in Kalispell. Lois was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Grenora, N.D., to Chester and Florence Linendoll. Her family moved to Harlem, where she graduated from Harlem High School.

In 1941 the family moved to Kalispell, where she met and married her future husband, Voyle Ernest Staab, on Dec. 19, 1942, in Kalispell. They were married for 62 years.

She worked at Flathead County Courthouse in the treasurer's office, and later as deputy auditor until her retirement after 33 years of work for the county.

She loved knitting, crocheting and needlepoint, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, working in her flower garden, and walking around Kalispell during the warm weather.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Voyle E. Staab, in 2004; and her parents, Florence and Chester Linendoll.

She is survived by her sons, Neil L. and his wife, Sherry Staab, of Dallas, and Stephen and his wife, Cathy Staab, of Orofino, Idaho; brother, Sonny, and his wife, Sharon Linendoll, of Hamilton; sisters, Lilly Chadband of Santa Maria, Calif., and Bobby Anderson of Helena; seven grandchildren, Libby, Melissa, Kari, Jeremy, Justin, Tricia and Stephen; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Andy, Sydney, Mattie, Emma, Chris and Austin; and five nieces and nephews, Lane, Dawn, Robert, Bryan and Linda.

A memorial service for Lois will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, in the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral chapel.
