Coulee City woman dies in crash

SOAP LAKE — Mildred A. Kreider, 50, Coulee City, died Sunday night when her motorcycle was struck by an SUV on state Route 17, 13 miles from Soap Lake.

Ronald D. Zigan, 31, Cheney, Wash., was taken into custody for vehicular homicide and DUI, the Washington State Patrol reported Monday.

Zigan was traveling southbound on SR 17 in a 2002 Dodge Durango when he allegedly crossed the center line, striking Kreider, the state patrol reported. Kreider was traveling northbound on a 2000 Harley-Davidson XL883 motorcycle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Zigan was not injured.

The Dodge Durango and Harley-Davidson motorcycle were totaled and towed from the scene.
