Nicole Abraham, who was wanted on a probation violation appeared unexpectedly for a scheduled hearing on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old Bonners Ferry Woman was returned to Boundary County Jail with no chance to post bond.

Abraham is on felony probation for supplying 16-year-old James “Jimmy” Wylie of Bonners Ferry with the drugs that led to his death on Dec. 12, 2006.

Kootenai Tribal councilwoman Velma Bahe told The Herald that  Abraham  is no longer allowed on the reservation or tribal lands. 

"We do not use the reservation as a hideout for these kinds of members," Bahe said. "We want the community to know we are not endorsing this kind of activity here."

Abraham had been hiding from law enforcement since she was kicked off an Alaskan cruise ship for fighting at the beginning of July.

According to probation officer Ron Pell, Abraham went on a cruise from Washington to Alaska without seeking a travel permit, which is required for anyone on felony probation before leaving the state.  Abraham was out on $40,000 bond when she took the cruise and a warrant was issued for Abraham after Pell was notified she left the state.

Boundary County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Rich Stephens and detective Mike Naumann arrived in court during Abraham’s probation violation on Tuesday and Judge Patrick Luster was handed the warrant.

Abraham’s lawyer Rex Finney asked that Abraham be released on the current $40,000 bond or have a new bond issued for Abraham’s release.

Luster denied both requests after Boundary County Prosecuting Attorney Jack Douglas and Pell expressed their concern that Abraham might run again.

“Absolutely not judge.  She absconded and she is a persistant violator,” Douglas said.  The state would like to make a very harsh recommendation at this point and I just think she is a flight risk,” said Douglas.

Abraham has a hearing at 11 a.m. on Tuesday Aug., 25, at Bondary County Courthouse for the probation violation.
