Fourteen-year-old Pablo speedster Brandon Drake’s car splits the difference in a race when drivers Timmy Rodgers, left, and Kelly Dupuis spin out. The race started over, and again Drake came out ahead. Right, Drake celebrates his first place win in the Bomber 4 division at Mission Valley Speedway in Pablo after the race. When asked how it felt to win his second gold in a row in his first season of racing, Drake had this to say: “It feels good. It feels like I’m the underdog.”

Drake hopes to build on his racing talents and shoot for the stars. What is his goal? “To get to Nascar,” he said, adding that he likes to race against his cousins and uncles on the track.
