Othello SunFaire hosts 3-on-3 tourney

OTHELLO — With the Fourth of July holiday a little more than a week away, the Othello Chamber of Commerce is accepting registration for their 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
The Othello Chamber of Commerce tournament, held in conjunction with the annual SunFaire, will take place at Lions Park in Othello.
Check-in for the 3-on-3 tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 4, with play beginning at 8 a.m.
Registration forms for the 3-on-3 tournament are available at the Othello Chamber of Commerce office and at Othello Sporting Goods. Registration forms are also available on the Othello Chamber of Commerce Web site at www.othellochamber.com.
Registration fees are $50 per team for teams registered by June 29. Fees will grow to $80 per team after June 29.
In addition to the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, the Othello Chamber of Commerce will conduct slam-dunk and 3-point contests.
Trophies will be awarded for first-place finishers and medals will be given to second- and third-place finishers.
All participants will receive T-shirts.
The 3-on-3 tournament is open to both boys and girls competing in the following age divisions: 9 to 12 years old, 13 to 15 years old, and 16 and up.
Othello Chamber of Commerce Manager Kathy Lomax said the surface of the Lions Park basketball courts has been upgraded since last year’s tournament.
“The basketball courts have been resurfaced and are better than ever,” she said.
