Shots fired at people in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — Several rounds were fired from a .22 caliber pistol at people standing in front of a residence on North Central Drive in Moses Lake Saturday night.

Two vehicles carrying an unspecified amount of people came to the residence, Moses Lake police Capt. Dave Ruffin said on Monday. It is unclear how many people were standing in front of the residence.

“A confrontation ensued between the persons standing outside the residence and the persons who had arrived in the vehicles,” he stated. “The incident escalated when one of the subjects, who had arrived in a vehicle, began shooting a weapon toward the subjects. The suspects fled the scene.”

No one was injured, Ruffin said.

Police located a 1992 Honda Accord the following afternoon, suspected of being involved in the shooting, he said. The vehicle was impounded and a search warrant on the vehicle is pending.

It was not determined if the incident was gang-related but police are investigating the possibility, Ruffin noted.
