Michael James Lawson, age 60, Moses Lake resident died in his home on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009.

He was born May 20, 1948, in Bellingham, Wash., to George Walter and Evelyn Elaine (Zurbrugg) Lawson.

Michael graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1967. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and being around his family very much. He loved to cook and his creations will be missed. Michael loved Alaska and always wanted to return someday. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #1626.

He is survived by his parents, George and Elaine Lawson of Moses Lake, brothers and sister-in-law Larry and Pat Lawson of Olalla, Wash., Gary and Yvonne Lawson of Moses Lake, son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Nicole Lawson of Washougal, Wash., and daughter Tamera Mindermann, of Cheney, Wash.; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by son Scott Lawson and wife Marjorie Lawson.

Viewing will be held from noon to 12:45 p.m., with funeral services immediately following in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Grape Drive Chapel, 925 N. Grape Drive, Moses Lake.

Michael’s family has asked Carver Family Funeral Home, Moses Lake to care for arrangements.
