The results for the Army National Guard Academic All Team Awards were released last month and Bigfork placed in the top five in five fall sports.

The Army National Guard, in partnership with the Montana High School Association, gives awards to the top five teams that have the highest combined grade point averages during the school year's first quarter of play for that activity. Awards are given to varsity, junior varsity, sophomore and freshman teams in each MHSA classification. Bigfork competes against 24 Class A schools, public and private, in Montana.

Bigfork's volleyball team had the best showing, as they had the highest GPA among freshman, 3.635, JV, 3.786, and varsity teams, 3.808.

The cheerleading squad did very well also. The JV squad had the best combined GPA in the state, 3.462, and the varsity squad had the second highest, 3.803.

The boys and girls varsity golf teams each had the third highest among their peers, with GPAs of 3.236 and 3.60, respectively.

The boys soccer team had the fifth highest GPA in the state, 3.236.

Whitefish was the only other school from the Northwest A Conference to receive honors for having any team place in the top five in the state.
