Dicie Maurene Woolford

Dicie Maurene Woolford was born Oct. 27, 1919, at Oxford, Izard County, Arkansas to parents, Elmer and Laura (Pitts) Webb. She died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, Ore., at the age of 89.

Dicie spent her early years in Arkansas and then moved to Washington state, finally settling in Moses Lake in 1954. On June 20, 1938, she married George Steven Woolford in Arkansas. They worked picking fruit before George started working for U & I and Dicie started working for Carnation (now Simplot). She enjoyed crocheting and friends. Dicie was a hard working, strong, opinionated lady who liked CNN.

She is survived by daughter, Freda Ramsey of Irrigon, Ore., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George Woolford, in 1988, parents, Elmer and Laura Webb, six brothers and five sisters.

At her request, there will be no services held. Disposition was by cremation. Inurnment of cremains will take place in Moses Lake at a later date.
