ARLEE — A 53-year-old Arlee woman was killed in a rollover accident at approximately 7:37 a.m. Tuesday on US Highway 93.

Josy R. Mann was the driver of the southbound vehicle that investigators say lost control, swerved off to the right, and rolled twice in the ditch. According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Terry Rosenbaum, Mann was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car during the rollover.

The investigating officer called icy road conditions and speeding contributing factors in the morning crash that occurred over the county line in Missoula County at milemarker 14.7 Highway 93.

“She was just traveling too fast for the current icy road conditions — alcohol was not a factor,” Trooper Rosenbaum added.

According to Missoula County Coroner Jason Johnson, Mann was transported by ambulance to St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula but was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma to the chest at the hospital later that morning.
