MOSES LAKE — Anthony R. Vasquez, 19, Moses Lake, was identified as the man shot in the arm on Sunny Drive Northeast in Moses Lake Wednesday afternoon.
The information was released by the Moses Lake Police Department Thursday.
Police responded to Sunny Drive after someone reported shots were fired, Moses Lake police Capt. Dave Ruffin said. When officers arrived at the scene, shell casings were located, possibly belonging to a pistol.
The victim and suspect were not on scene.
Shortly after, Vasquez was discovered as a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop on North Stratford Road, Ruffin said. He was transported to Samaritan Healthcare for treatment and was released for a single gunshot wound to his left arm.
The vehicle he was traveling in was impounded for evidence purposes.
Vasquez was allegedly involved in a fight and entered a residence on Sunny Drive, according to a police report.
“While there, an altercation broke out,” according to the report. “Both victim and suspect fled (the) scene without calling police.”
Ruffin said no one is cooperating with the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at 509-766-9230.
