Libby’s Joel Fuller and Conner Benson were named to the Northwestern A Conference basketball team. Fuller was also included on the Class A all-star squad.

Fuller, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, and Benson, a 5-foot-11 senior guard, helped the Loggers to a regular-season runner-up finish in the competitive Northwestern A. Colton Cannon, a 6-foot junior guard, was an honorable mention selection.

Counting all selections, Columbia Falls had four players honored. Libby, Whitefish, Polson and Ronan each had three.

As reported last week, Libby’s Jackie Mee and Brittany Martin made all-conference first team with Jaime Gilden included on the second team. The Lady Loggers finished second in the conference during the regular season.

Mee was also an all-state selection.

Columbia Falls, Libby, Bigfork and Polson each had three players on the first and second teams.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond

The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
