MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce is hosting the ninth annual Chamber Golf Scramble Friday at the Links at Moses Pointe.
Staples, Genie Industries, Horizon, and Washington Trust are the major sponsors for the 2009 tournament and chamber President Billy Brice said the Chamber Golf Scramble would not be possible without their support.
“The tournament and our sponsors have always shown a lot of support for the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce,” he said. “The (sponsors) are really supportive and without their (help) the chamber would not be possible.”
Discovery Ford is sponsoring the hole-in-one competition and Genie Industries is sponsoring a ping-pong ball drop, Brice said.
“We have some side-games and we have a lot of prizes to give away,” he said.
The chamber members appreciate the help from all of the event’s sponsors, Brice said.
“The chamber really appreciates all of the sponsor support,” he said.
The Chamber Golf Scramble will begin Friday at 11 a.m. with a shot-gun start and 124 golfers are scheduled to participate.
With the support of the participants, the sponsors and the Moses Lake community, Brice said he is looking forward to seeing the chamber thrive in the future.
“Our chamber’s commitment is still strong and we believe our community is standing strong,” he said.
“We really appreciate the people who are manning the holes and we are looking forward to having this tournament grow each year.”
While the economic climate throughout the country is struggling, Brice said he has confidence in the Moses Lake community.
“With our economy the way it is, Moses Lake seems to be doing very well,” he said. “People are still supportive of their community and Moses Lake is a great place to live.”
