RONAN — As the Ronan HIgh School Show choir presents its annual Cabaret event this week, the Ronan Police Department will add patrols.

The show will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on May 7-9 at the Ronan High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, at the door. Early order reserve seats are available at the RMS from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by calling 676-3390, ext. 3400.

“The cabaret set for this weekend is a great community event,” said Ronan Chief of Police Dan Wadsworth. “Extra patrols will help support the success of the event by watching for impaired drivers and encouraging everyone to buckle up.”

Officers want to help ensure that everyone has a fun, safe weekend. For the safety of all, never drink when you are going to drive, a release from the Montana Department of Transportation said.

Overtime and additional law enforcement patrols are part of the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) funded by the Montana Department of Transportation. STEP is designed to give law enforcement additional resources to focus on traffic safety, especially deterring impaired drivers and encouraging the use of seat belts.

Each participating STEP agency determines the high risk times and locations when they will place additional patrols. Almost 60 different law enforcement agencies across the state are taking part in the added enforcement program.
