QUINCY — The Quincy Jackrabbits advanced to the semifinals of the Central Washington Athletic Conference’s (CWAC) district soccer tournament Saturday with a shootout victory over the visiting Wapato Wolves.

Quincy and Wapato played 30 minutes of scoreless soccer Saturday at Quincy’s Jaycee Stadium before Quincy junior Raul Serrano put the defending CWAC champions ahead 1-0.

The Jacks looked destined to wrap up the contest in regulation before Wapato’s Sergio Sanchez fielded a pass from Fredy Rodriguez and scored with four minutes left in the second half to tie the contest 1-1.

Quincy and Wapato remained tied throughout overtime before going to a shootout.

The Jacks cruised to a 4-2 victory in the shootout to reach the district semifinals. Quincy will travel to Prosser Tuesday afternoon to take on the Mustangs at 4 p.m.

Columbia Basin Big Nine Conference Tournament

Davis 1, Moses Lake 0

YAKIMA, Wash. — Moses Lake battled Davis Saturday in a loser-out Columbia Basin Big Nine tournament match, but in the end the Chiefs couldn’t find a way to sink the Pirates.

The Chiefs and Pirates struggled through a scoreless tie through the first 71 minutes of Saturday’s contest before Davis’ Andres Ruiz found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to lift Davis to the victory.

Moses Lake knocked off Davis 3-2 on April 7 at Lions Field in Moses Lake but the Chiefs couldn’t find an answer for the Pirates, who have won seven of eight games.

Moses Lake senior goalie Mitch Harder made seven saves for the Chiefs.

South Central Athletic Conference District Quarterfinals

Royal 3, Mabton 2

MABTON, Wash — The Royal Knights boys soccer team advanced to the South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) district semifinals Saturday with a 3-2 win over the Mabton Vikings in double overtime.

The Knights controlled the scoreboard during the final 20 minutes of the second half, — holding a 2-1 advantage — before Mabton’s Juan Aguilar found the back of the net with 40 seconds left in regulation.  forcing the contest into overtime.

Royal got a little payback in the second overtime period.

With just seconds left in overtime and the SCAC rivals looking like they were destined for a shootout, Royal’s Elias Corona found the back of the net to propel the Knights to the 3-2 victory.

Royal advanced to the district semifinals with the win over Mabton and the Knights will travel to Connell to take on the Eagles Tuesday at 4 p.m.
