Man sentenced for selling drugs

EPHRATA — A Pasco, Wash., man was sentenced to 20 months in prison for selling drugs out of a Moses Lake motel room.
Juan Carlos Hernandez, 25, pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance — methamphetamine, possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm in Grant County Superior Court.
Police raided Hernandez’s motel room in October after receiving a tip he was selling drugs out of the hotel room, according to the Moses Lake police report. After obtaining a search warrant, police went to the room at the Lakeshore Motel.
When the police entered, they found Hernandez coming out of the bathroom. There were a few other people in the room, who were released by police. When they searched Hernandez they found $3,090 on him, along with 40 grams of methamphetamine in coat.
They also found 26.5 grams of methamphetamine, divided between two plastic bags, stuffed inside a Doritos bag. On the ground near a chest of drawers, they found an 8.5 gram bag of marijuana and a 29 gram bag of marijuana inside of a duffel bag in the closet, according to the police report.
Police also found two more bags of methamphetamine, containing 3.3 grams between them, on top of the bureau and a 9 mm pistol on a shelf near the closet.
