MOSES LAKE – A Moses Lake woman investigating a suspicious noise in her home, came upon a potential burglar Wednesday morning.

The woman reportedly heard a loud noise near the back door of her home on West Knolls Vista Drive at about 1:30 a.m., the Moses Lake Police Department reported. She got out of bed to see what the noise was at the back door.

When she reached the door, she reportedly saw a male standing outside the door and she screamed, police reported. The male ran toward a dark colored car, similar to a Geo Metro, that was parked in the driveway. He drove away.

The suspect was described as 6 feet tall, white, skinny, wearing a baseball cap and possibly shorts.

“The suspect was confronted before anything could be taken,” police reported. “Photographs of the residence were taken, including pry marks on the door.”

Roughly $100 in damages was reported to the door due to the tool used in an attempt to open the door.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact Moses Lake police at 509-766-9230.
