POLSON — A 49-year-old Polson man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 93 north of Polson on Saturday afternoon.
Lake County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Sargeant reported that William Arthur McCormick Jr., crashed at approximately milemarker 68.5 when it appears the driver hit the shoulder of the road and over-corrected. Sargeant said the vehicle rolled over multiple times before the driver was ejected.
Upon arrival of emergency medical personnel at approximately 1:50 p.m., McCormick was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say it is suspected that drinking was involved in the fatal crash, but they will not know for sure until they receive further information on results from the crime lab.
