GEORGE — Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies made 88 crime-related contacts during the eighth annual weekend Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheater in George.

The event was Saturday through Monday and resulted in 10 arrests, the sheriff’s office reported. Despite the number of contacts, it was referred to as calmer than past years, according to Grant County Undersheriff John Turley.

The Gorge Campground hosted about 70,000 people during the event.

The most frequent crimes reported were 19 trespass complaints and 12 minors cited for allegedly being in possession of alcohol, the sheriff’s office reported.

Also included in the incidents were assaults, drug possession, child neglect, obstruction, abandoned vehicles, possession of controlled substances, possession of synthetics, indecent exposure, robbery, traffic accident, theft, threats, weapon offense, public nuisances, traffic offenses and vandalism.

The 10 arrests included four misdemeanors, five felonies and one for a warrant.

The sheriff’s office, Live Nation, Crowd Management Services and the Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit worked together during the event.

The reserve unit volunteered about 300 hours of service to the sheriff’s office during the music festival.
