Awards given at Moses Lake car show

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Classic Car Club car show attracted 237 cars and four tractors during Moses Lake Spring Festival.
Thirty-six awards were given in categories, including best custom car by the decade, best stock car or truck by the decade, best custom truck, best rat rod, best street rod, best muscle car and best tractor.
The Best in Show was awarded to Dave and Estala Poitier, of Malaga, Wash., for their 1956 Chevrolet Belair.
The Ladies Choice Award went to Tom and Marcy Driskill, of Spokane for their 1985 Chevrolet pickup truck.
The Master’s Choice Award went to Buz and Glo Peck, of Battleground, Wash., for their 1936 Ford Roadster.
The Just Because it’s Cool Award was given to Ken and Anna Hempel, of Royal City for their 1941 International pickup.
The Chief of Police Award went to Jim and Karen Schmitz, of Puyallup for their 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302.
Awards were given to 15 Columbia Basin residents for their entries.
Joe Gonzalez, of Moses Lake, won the best custom car for the 1960 to 1964 category for his 1964 Chevrolet Malibu.
Aaron Gimmeson, of Moses Lake, received the best custom car for the 1976 to 2007 category for his 2000 Ford Mustang.
Larry and Marcia Entzel, of George, won the best stock car or truck from the 1955 to 1959 category for their 1957 Chevrolet 3100.
Pete Stauderaus, of Moses Lake, had the best stock car for the 1965 to 1969 for his 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS.
Lynn Schaal, of Moses Lake, won the best stock car for the 1980 to 2007 category for a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z28.
James Yowell, of Moses Lake, won a best custom truck for his 1951 Chevrolet pickup truck.
Mike Adamos, of Moses Lake, got a best custom truck award for his 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.
Harvey LeDoux, of Moses Lake, won the All Fiberglass Body Rod award for his 1932 Ford Roadster.
Judy Ferguson, of Moses Lake, won the a street rod award for her 1942 Studebaker.
Omar Llamas, of Moses Lake, received a youth class award for his 1989 Toyota Camry.
John Spiess, of Soap Lake, received an award for the unfinished truck category for his 1947 International pickup truck.
Nacho Garay, of Moses Lake, won best low rider car for his 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS.
Terry O’Brien, of Moses Lake, received the orphan award for his 1954 Citrown, Traction Avant.
Don Turner, of Moses Lake, won best tractor for his 1953 Ford NAA Golden Jubilee.
