The Hockaday Museum of Art Guild will host its first Christmas Gift Fair from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, at the museum (in conjunction with the Kalispell Art Walk) and Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The guild has assembled a group of local artists who will offer for sale an array of one-of-a-kind works in oil, watercolor, pencil, wood, glass and metal.

Admission to the Hockaday will be free during both days of the Gift Fair. Cookies, holiday treats and refreshments will be served.

An unusual twist to the gift fair will be 30 “Jumping Jack” whimsical art pieces designed by Jennifer Li that have been personalized by local artists and will be sold.

Wes Hines of the Glacier High School art faculty also helped with the design and cut out the wooden pieces.

A variety of handmade ornaments and crafts made by guild members and area artists also will be for sale.

Guild members who have been meeting regularly to craft tree ornaments to be sold during the fair include Nancy Westberg, Janet Bierrum, Beth Collier, Fran Foley, Jesselyn Ross, Joan Pfuhl, Joann Blake and Norma Happ.

Artists who will display and sell their work include: George Bland, Montana House of Glass; Melissa Berdimurat, Peaceful Peak Designs Jewelry; Darlene Cecil, “Pillow Talk”; David Dragonfly; Barbara Deveer, Deveer Designs; John Gibbs, woodturning; Gary Hastings, Coyote Roadhouse Pottery; Howard and Maurienne Jacobson, crafts; Paula Johnson, beadwork; Karen Lamb, Earthstones Pottery; Jennifer Li, painted etchings; Jeff Manion, paintings; Stacy Neary, Ukrainian eggs; Karen Nole, paintings; Darrell and Angelica Norman; Nicholas Oberling, painted etchings; Elaine Snyder, Buckskin Clothiers; Judith Syverson, miniatures; and Eric Thorsen, sculptures.

The Hockaday is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave. E. It is housed in a wheelchair-accessible 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places.

Available year-round, the Hockaday’s Off the Wall gift gallery offers an artful selection of prints, pottery, posters, cards, books, music, DVDs and special items for the younger artist. This season, the Hockaday is offering a unique line of gifts to honor Glacier National Park’s 100th anniversary next year.
