Patricia Ann Holmquist, 83

Patricia Ann Holmquist, 84 this Oct. 23, went home to be with her Savior on Oct. 2, 2009, from natural causes. She spent her life in the Flathead Valley enjoying her family, rock hunting, crafts, fishing, and church activities. She and her husband, Ted, raised nine children. Pat was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Diane Murphy DuMontier; and a great-grandson, Thaddaeus Seeberger. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Hanson and Wendy Holmquist, of Kalispell; and her sons, Don Holmquist of Richmond, Texas, Ted Holmquist of Columbia Falls, Jim and Joe Holmquist of Kalispell, Robin Holmquist of Grandview, Idaho, and Dave Holmquist of Cheyenne, Wyo. She had many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by them all. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Kalispell Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, any gifts may be directed to: Kalispell Church of the Nazarene, Compassionate Ministries, 1295 Whitefish Stage Road, Kalispell, MT 59901.

Climate Smart Glacier Country announced its Climate Smart Champions during a ceremony at the Earth Day celebration April 21 in Whitefish. Awards were presented to businesses, youth and an individual who are leaders in building local solutions to climate change challenges.
