Prep volleyball: Eureka rips Troy

TROY - Eureka improved to 6-1 in District 7B action and 9-3 overall by stopping Troy 25-13, 25-20, 25-23 Tuesday in volleyball play.

"Just a great, great team effort," Eureka coach Rhonda Hammond said.

"I thought Tayler (Holder) hit the ball well. Our middles are continuing to do really well, and we served tough."

Holder had 12 of Eureka's 28 kills in the match. Cassidy Morgan had five of the Lions' 17 aces.

Eureka hosts Plains on Saturday.

Jordan Danz had nine kills and eight digs and Julia Bray totaled two blocks, eight digs and four aces in Stillwater Christian School's 25-11, 25-11, 25-12 nonconference victory over the Bigfork JV.

Linnea Hashley finished with 18 assists and four aces for SCS.

The win lifts Stillwater to 14-1 overall.

"The girls are playing great team ball," SCS coach Dave Shawback said. "Jordan Danz and Julia Smith, our outside hitters, had a great night attacking and keeping the pressure on Bigfork's defense."

Stillwater Christian has a league match Thursday versus Flathead Valley Home School at 6:30 p.m. at West Valley. SCS is 5-0 in conference play.
