Volleyball: Eureka takes 7-B match over Troy

Eureka improved to 6-1 in District 7-B on Tuesday night with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-23 victory over Troy in high school volleyball action.
The Lady Trojans put up a better and better fight as the night wore on and nearly pulled out game 3. But the Lions held on to improve to 9-3 overall on the season. The Lady Trojans fall to 2-5 in 7-B and 4-7 overall.
Freshman Michaela Curry led Troy in the hitting department with four of the team’s 11 kills. Kristin Parks had a pair of blocks and Cassidy Hand came up with nine digs. Alyssa Olds finished with six set assists and Ashley Paasch had all three of Troy’s ace serves.
Alyssa White and Taylor Holder were a lethal combination for Eureka. White had 23 assists and Holder ended up with a dozen kills for the Lions.
Troy heads to Mission on Friday and will host Stillwater Christian on Saturday.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond
The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
Action on Quiet Waters Initiative expected May 26
The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will act on the Quiet Waters rule proposal in a meeting rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 26 at Montana WILD.
