KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Lady Cougars volleyball team traveled to Kennewick, Wash., Tuesday night to square off with South Central Athletic Conference rival River View, but Warden was unable to break their season-long losing streak as they fell in five games.

With the loss to River View, the Cougars fell to 0-6 in conference play and 0-8 overall.

Despite the loss, the Cougars got off to a solid start when they rallied to take game one on the road 25-21.

While Warden built the early advantage, the Panthers would even the match with a 26-24 victory in game two.

After River View stormed back to pull even in game two, the Panthers took their first lead of the match with a 25-18 victory in game three to take a 2-1 advantage at home.

While River View took the lead with a victory in game three, Warden would not go quietly. The Lady Cougars clawed their way back in game four to pull even at 2-2 with a 25-20 victory.

With the Lady Cougars pulling even with the Panthers in game four, River View would not be denied at home, rolling to a 15-7 victory in a decisive game five to claim the victory.

Senior Emma Bisnett led Warden at the net with eight kills and four blocks while fellow senior Kacey Kisler added three kills and 24 digs. Carter Marks provided seven kills for Warden in the loss and Lindsay Cole had 28 digs. Emily Shuler provided the Warden offense with 34 assists.

MLCA 3, Mansfield 0

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Christian Academy Lady Lions kept pace in North Central Washington 1B Conference volleyball action Tuesday afternoon with a dominating sweep of the Kernels.

Moses Lake stormed to victory in three games with a 25-16 victory in game one, a 25-22 victory in game two and a 25-17 victory in game three.

Melissa Verhage and Chelsea Yarbro added seven kills each while Kristina Firouzi led the way with 10 assists and three digs.

The Moses Lake Christian Academy returns to action today at 5:30 p.m. when they host conference co-leading Thorp.
