H1N1 flu vaccine arrives in Lincoln County

The Lincoln County Health Department announced Wednesday morning that it has received several nasal dosages of the H1N1 flu vaccine.
Amy Smart, Lincoln County public health emergency official, said that an after-school H1N1 flu nasal mist vaccine clinic has been set up for Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 3-6 p.m. at the Libby Senior Citizens Center.
“People that we’re hoping will come are healthy 2- to 24-year-olds, especially school kids, and caretakers of infants who are healthy and 25-49 years old,” Smart said.
Parents need to accompany children under age 18.
The seasonal flu vaccine is also available at the clinic. The H1N1 nasal mist vaccine is free while the seasonal flu vaccine carries a $15 charge.
Smart said she expects to arrange an H1N1 flu vaccine clinic for Troy in the near future.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond
The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
Action on Quiet Waters Initiative expected May 26
The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will act on the Quiet Waters rule proposal in a meeting rescheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 26 at Montana WILD.
