HELENA - It was a different Glacier football team that showed up in Helena this year, but it was the same old Capital at Vigilante Stadium on Friday night.

The undefeated No. 1 Bruins piled up 548 yards of offense and toppled the No. 4 Wolfpack 44-19 to win its record 29th Class AA game in a row.

Capital (8-0) dealt the Wolfpack its worst loss of the season and snapped Glacier's three game win streak.

The Wolfpack (5-3) managed three touchdowns late in the fourth quarter and senior quarterback Shay Smithwick-Hann passed for a new school record in yards (327) and attempts (49).

Stormy Day returned a 93-yard kickoff for a touchdown, which is also a new school record.

Bryan Chery had eight catches for 84 yards and a touchdown and Joshua Criner caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown to round out Glacier's scoring.

The Glacier defense forced four turnovers against Capital's potent offense. Jacob Konen, Brendan Hagen and Connor Fuller each had an interception while a fumble was recovered as well.

With two games left, Glacier is in a five-way tie for fourth place. The Wolfpack face Missoula Big Sky (5-3) on the road next Friday.
