PABLO — Justin Dusty Bull led the Ronan cross country team and finished sixth to garner all-conference honors.

Ronan competed at the cross country Northwest A conference championships at the Silver Fox Golf Course in Pablo.

The boys finished third and the girls finished fourth out of five teams.

Dusty Bull tripped in his first step of the race, but led the pack for the first two miles before four Whitefish runners passed him. He finished in 17:33.

Ronan had its top five runners finish in under 19 minutes for the first time this season.

Kevin Wreblewski finished in 18:08 to take eleventh place. Brady Oakland took third on the team in 18:48. Edmond Dupuis finished in 18:41 and Jordan Franklin in 18:48.

“Kevin Wreblewski ran very aggressively and posted his best time of the season,” head coach Gale Decker said. “Our goal is to finish in the top half of the A teams at state next week.”

The Ronan girls ran as well as they could have ran, Decker said.

Ashley Grandchamp took 12th overall with a time of 21:48, three minutes faster than she ran at Ronan’s invitational at the same venue. Rachel Hardy also ran three minutes faster than a month ago with a time of 22:51. Taylor Cullen moved up to the sixth spot to make the state team after running junior varsity all year.

The state meet is Saturday at the University of Montana golf course.
