MOSES LAKE — More details about January’s American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Meeting and Conference are being provided at the Grant County Farm Bureau’s Annual Banquet at Pillar Rock Grill on Oct. 29.
One of the local farm bureau’s door prizes is a paid trip for a couple to attend the national conference, he said.
This year, the national conference is held in Seattle from Jan. 10-13, explained Aaron Golladay, the Grant County Farm Bureau’s president.
The dinner at Pillar Rock is free of charge for voting members of the Grant County Farm Bureau.
Tickets for the banquet are $30 per couple and $20 per person for nonmembers and nonvoting members, he said.
To attend the local banquet, reserve your seat by Thursday.
Golladay hopes about 150 people attend the event. The social hour starts at 6 p.m. and the buffet dinner begins at 7 p.m.
One confirmed guest speaker is state Sen. Janéa Holmquist, R-Moses Lake.
“I am honored to have been invited to speak before the Grant County Farm Bureau,” she stated. “It is right up there with when I was named Washington Farm Bureau’s legislator of the year two years in a row, an unprecedented back-to-back honor.”
“I plan on sharing what happened in Olympia this year and what I expect to happen in 2010 — including how I’ll be working to protect the wallets and rights of the people I represent,” she stated.
