PABLO — It was apparent on Two Eagle River volleyball’s senior night that the younger team members will have large shoes to fill.
The Eagles lost to Arlee 19-25, 28-25, 20-25, but three seniors led the team.
Adele Frost, Jaylen Carpentier, and Tiana Ness led the team in all categories. Frost led with four assists, Ness had five digs and four assists and Carpentier had 11 kills, three blocks and five aces.
“They could have gotten any one of those sets if they would have worked together,” head coach Chrissie Ewing said.
In the first set, the Eagles held the lead at 17-16 and were never more than three points down.
For the second set, Carpentier had three solid serves to bring the Eagles within six points of Arlee.
The third set was tougher for the Eagles as Arlee’s serving was strong.
“I thought they played pretty good,” Ewing said. “I had to call timeouts to get them to refocus.”
Up next, the Eagles travel to Lincoln in their last regular-season game before hosting districts Oct. 29-31.
