Sally Lou Hoye, 67, received her angel wings on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, after passing away at Health Center Northwest in Kalispell. She was born on Oct. 11, 1942, in Williston, N.D., to Alfred M. and Vivian J. (Moothart) Hoye. Sally was 4 when her family moved to the Flathead Valley where she lived until she graduated from high school. She continued her education at Dillon, and received her teaching degree. Sally s career started in Great Falls, and after a couple years she started teaching at schools on military bases around the world. Her first year was spent in Okinawa, then on to the Philippines, Japan, Germany, England, Iceland and New Finland. Although she spent most summers home she spent other vacations around the world in Africa, China, Russia, India and many other places of interest, meeting and making many life-long friends. After retiring, Sally returned to Kalispell where she spent the remainder of her life doing volunteer work at Kalispell Regional Medical Center and the Lutheran Home, as well as caring for her mother. She loved doing crafts of all kinds and became rather famous for her card making ability. She was generous to a fault and enjoyed spoiling her many nieces and nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Mort; and a nephew, Henry. She is survived by her brothers, Ron Hoye and Anita of Kalispell, Art Hoye and Lue of Columbia Falls, and Adrian Hoye and Nancy of Missoula; her sister, Susan West, and Bob, of Columbia Falls; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Hoye, of Oregon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends from around the world. There will be a graveside urn burial at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Glacier Memorial Gardens, followed by memorial services at 10 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kurt Rau officiating. The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the Flathead Food Bank, 1203 Hwy. 2 W., Suite No. 2, Kalispell, MT 59901; Home Options Hospice, 175 Commons Loop, Suite 100, Kalispell, MT 59901; or Calvary Lutheran Mission Endowment Fund, 2200 Hwy. 2 E., Kalispell, MT 59901. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Sally s family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view Sally s guestbook, offer condolences or share memories.
