Quarterback Brock Osweiler will continue to get playing time for the Arizona State Sun Devil's this season, according to head coach Dennis Erickson.

Osweiler, a 2008 graduate of Flathead High, filled in for injured starter Danny Sullivan with roughly eight minutes to play last Saturday against Stanford and finished 1-for-7 for 18 yards. The Sun Devils (4-3 overall and 2-2 Pac-10) trailed 27-14 at the time and went on to lose 33-14.

The 6-foot-8 freshman has appeared in four games this season and is a combined 8-for-18 for 82 yards and a touchdown and has a quarterback rating of 101.05.

"[Osweiler's] got a lot of talent and he continues to get better in practice and he's going to play this year," Erickson told ESPN's Ted Miller. "I'm not saying he's going to start, but he'll play. He'll get in games and he'll get better all the time."

Sullivan is expected to be back starting this weekend against No. 24 California.

Besides Cal, the Sun Devils still have to face No. 5 USC, No. 10 Oregon and No. 20 Arizona, as well as UCLA.

Arizona State's offense has been inconsistant this season which has led critics to side with Osweiler taking over the reins.

The true freshman made his debut against Idaho St. and was 4-for-5 for 43 yards and a touchdown.
