Troy woman's body found in Lake Pend Oreille

The body of a drowned woman discovered Thursday afternoon in Lake Pend Oreille near Hope, Idaho, was identified Monday as Joan Lyons of Troy, according to a Bonner County Sheriff’s Office release by Lt. Doug Harris.
Lyons, 59, is believed to have drowned Wednesday night, but was not discovered until Thursday afternoon. The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 12:47 p.m. reporting a body floating in the water in one of the boat slips at Kramer’s Marina.
The preliminary results of an autopsy performed Friday revealed no signs of foul play or traumatic injuries to Lyons’ body, according to Harris, and that the woman’s cause of death was drowning.
Toxicology samples have been submitted to a laboratory for examination but results will not come back for several weeks, he said.
Lyons lived on a sailboat at Kramer’s Marina during the week while working in the Sandpoint, Idaho area, Harris said.

Troy Softball Takes Two From Drummond
The Drummond High School softball team rolled into Troy Saturday with high hopes of ending a long streak of being on the wrong end of the score, and for half of the first game of the doubleheader, looked like they had every chance of doing just that. However the host Trojans exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and then shut down Drummond in the top of the fifth, winning 14-3. Troy kept the bats hot in the second game, plating 21 runs to end that game early as well, 21-11.
Action on Quiet Waters Initiative expected May 26
